PSP GO What Were They Thinking

OK internet let me start off by saying that this was a great year for the PSP in terms of software and I ended up spending way more money and time for that matter on my PSP 3000 than I thought I would be. Thanks to games like Pixel Junk Monsters Deluxe, LBP, Arctic Edge, Resisitance, Gran Turismo and my favorite mini game so far Field Runners.

So in terms of software I can finally say that this past year was a very good year for the PSP but when it comes to their new hardware and the introduction of the Go all I can say is WTF were you guys thinking over there at Sony? Don’t get me wrong here the Go is a great little piece of gizmo gaming  technology and would have been a huge seller if that was the only PSP on the market but it’s not!

Based on the sales numbers for the Go and you can find those at places like VGChartz dot com the Go has gotten off to a miserable start and it’s nobodies fault but Sony’s. Why on earth would any gamer especially during a recession spend almost the same amount of money on a portable system that has a much cheaper counterpart or for a mere $50 dollars more just get yourself a do everything PS3   come on Sony what were you guys thinking?

Next year is already starting to shape up as another banner year for the PSP in terms of the amount of new software coming to market. I know that I have quite a few games on my must play list already games like,  Peacewalker, Valkyria 2, Fireteam Bravo 3, Ecoshift and sure to be one of my favorites in 2010 the Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake game.

When it comes to the PSP hardware of 2010 there are already grumblings of then next PSP 4000 or PSP2 which will be awesome I am sure. Let’s just hope that they price the next system out to the right sweet spot for handhelds which is under $200! Sony I am talking to you here don’t blow this again, I hope you have learned your lesson about putting to big of a price tag on your product and keeping it out of the hands of the consumer. $599 for PS3= FAIL $299 for PS3=Success! $249 for PSPGo=FAIL….. you know what needs to happen now don’t you internet? Hopefully Sony will realize sooner than later as well.
